TMI....;)

Ok I need some recommendations please:)
Ever since I started dieting well....I am not regular(sounds like an Activia commercial) lol:D I am eating plenty of fiber ?! This morning my stomach is bloated and puffy:( I know its not from anything else except for this reason. I have been sticking to my points etc..and really need to get this problem resolved;)

Any suggestions?

  1. Not tmi.. I have the same issue. Before my change of food/diet, I was very regular. Always in the morning before my shower and before I left for work. Since I changed my diet, even though I exceed my daily fiber amount, I am all over the place in times. It has got to the point where a good bowel movement makes me very happy :)

  2. Are you drinking water? I mean like lots of water? When you add fiber it adds bulk. The "bulk" needs water to help it travel. If there is not enough water... well the bulk moves slowly... nice visual- I know!!! Other than that- I have no ideas!

  3. I have trouble with my tummy at times, so I know how you feel. I would recommend lots of water. Cranberry juice is a great at flushing stuff out of the body. I'm pretty sure exercise can be good, moving about a bit, rather than sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves - though this is often what we want to do.

  4. Just stick with it. I remember that feeling and still get it when I stop eating a lot of fiber and then try to go back to it. I remember the gas...oh boy was it bad! Just remember, your body is benefiting from it, even if the air around you isn't!

  7. Senna tea. It will do it. This tea in Meijer is back where the pharmacy is. It is sometimes called "Smooth Move" :-) or Digestive something or other - read the ingredients - if senna is listed that's it. At my health food store they sell just senna tea. NOW - do not drink a full cup of it full strength - drink half the cup one day and half the next. I have a 4 cup press and put two senna and two green tea bags. I use some creamer and stevia. It will do the trick - can even be a little harsh. You will find your own best dose.

  8. Have the same issue, tried everything under the sun. Now I eat 3-5 prunes a day and I go everyday like magic :)

  9. I was having this same problem and went I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and I had tried EVERYTHING. They told me to take Miralax (I add to 4 oz of OJ before bed) every day and that it was even safe if I needed to continue it for some time. The prunes help also but add more calories than I want to. I am now adding whole flax seed to a meal or yogurt at least 1x a day but I try for 2x a day. the Senna tea works well also except for it causes me a lot of discomfort and when its time you better be ready. TMI? LOL So now if I miss more than a day or 2 I take miralax and problem is solved. :) Hope this helps!
